Description

When dieselization was first begun in 1953 CGR classified it’s first Main line locomotive as class ‘M1’ The most successful locomotive in the Sri Lanka. Almost all locomotives are still operational.  Imported to Sri Lanka under “The Colombo Plan”. Normally called as “Canadian” engine.Was operational for nearly 30 years in total success.
