Tea Maker

This was standarrd equipment in wayside tea-boutiques throughout the Ceylon of the 1940s. Water was contained in the outer jacket and was led off the brass tap. Wood chips were dropped from the top chimney area into the grate at the bottom where it was lighted.

These Boilers vanished from the roadside tea shops as kerosine cookers took it’s place.
