Description
Directly and indirectly, over one million Sri Lankans are employed in the tea industry. A large proportion of the workforce is young women and the minimum working age is twelve. Worker women are supposed to reap more than 18 Kg daily to get a bonus. They carry their baskets full in tender leaves to the MUSTER SHEDS to be weighed. Supervisors measure each load and make arrangements to transport them to the factory.
