Description
Cutting down trees to saw them into planks and rafters is done in early times in Sri lanka by the human energy. They set a temporary platform to hold cut logs and rolled these heavy logs onto the location by rolling them along horizontally set branches. Then they tied the log there to rip along the marked lines. Two men standing on and below the timber work hard to cut with veriy long hand saws. Some times they had to drive wedges to keep the saw unblocked.
